Death Spells recently opened up for Mindless Self Indulgence at the Phoenix Concert Theatre, and it was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before.
It was pretty damn awesome that they were able to transform the venue with their eerie music & visuals, as it felt as if the audience was being transported to somewhere else for their set. In a way it felt like I was in a horror art exhibit. The band consists of James Dewees (Reggie and the Full Effect) and Frank Iero (ex-My Chemical Romance), and although this music is very far from what both of these guys are well known for, it’s a really nice change! I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for them & hopefully they release an EP or full length in the near future.
